After office hours meeting

Hi. I have just started my first job after graduation. I work in a MNC and every week there is some meeting scheduled after my official working hours, because the meeting involves people from UK or US and we need to find time that suits all of us.

The meeting is 30min or 1h, and sometimes start at 6, or 7 or 8pm. My working hours end at 5:30pm and I don’t get OT pay. The meeting is held on zoom so no need to be in office.

I have been working for 2 months here and almost every week will have at least 1 of such meetings, sometimes up to 3x per wk. I feel like I can’t have a life outside of work now. If I have dinner with family, at maybe 7pm, I need to excuse myself to go attend these meetings.

Is this normal in SG?
