BRT or SOLGW barrel? (chrome vs nitride?)
I'm set on 12.5" for an almost-always-suppressed GPR upper, but undecided on which barrel to go with... does anyone have experience with either or both of the following and have feedback to share? Links and the differences between them listed below. Input much appreicated!
- BRT 12.5 Optimum (non CHF) https://www.rooftopdefense.com/product/black-river-tactical-12-5-5-56-optimum-6r-rifled-barrel-gas-tube-combo/
- carbine-extended gas might make it easier to tune so it still sorta works without the suppressor (OCL Polonium)
- chrome lined bore
- SOLGW 12.5 V2 combat (non CHF) https://sonsoflibertygw.com/product/5-56mm-v2-combat-barrels/
- Unique barrel profile being thicker near the chamber seems stronger
- nitride bore
I'm leaning towards a restricted/suppressor gas block so that there is minimal gas with a suppressor attached, and running a stadard BCG. Still considering a 'middlegroud' gas block with a bootleg adjustable BCG though. any input on that variable welcome too!
