Corrupted Gaming Services & Xbox App
Hi all!
I managed to corrupt my Gaming Services and Xbox App while troubleshooting the Xbox App not opening.
I was initially running into this in my event viewer:
Faulting application name: XboxPcApp.exe, version: 2412.1001.25.0, time stamp: 0x677d5dcc
Faulting module name: XboxPcApp.exe, version: 2412.1001.25.0, time stamp: 0x677d5dcc
Exception code: 0xc000027b
Fault offset: 0x00000000000214ab
Faulting process id: 0x0x53CC
Faulting application start time: 0x0x1DB67E0702B82E4
Faulting application path: C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.GamingApp_2412.1001.25.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe\XboxPcApp.exe
Faulting module path: C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.GamingApp_2412.1001.25.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe\XboxPcApp.exe
Report Id: 680c2640-c251-439e-996a-41ae6eef2396
Faulting package full name: Microsoft.GamingApp_2412.1001.25.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe
Faulting package-relative application ID: Microsoft.Xbox.App
I was following this article under "Remove and Reinstall Gaming Services" https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/games-apps/troubleshooting/troubleshoot-games-windows-10 -- I uninstalled and reinstalled it a couple times -- then removed the Xbox app. After that they both hung checking for pre-requesites. I restarted my computer and must have corrupted Gaming Services in the process.
Now when I try to reinstall them I get Code: 0x8024001E
Anyway! Does anyone know how to fix a corrupted app install? I would strongly prefer not to reinstall Windows. I wish the Xbox App wasn't so tightly woven into Windows.
