Parents want me to come back to Vietnam and inherit family business

I’ve been living in North America since I was a teenager, all my friends are here, and I’ve a job that I enjoy. My parents have a pretty successful business and they are starting to think about retirement. They called me the other day and told me they wanted me to move back to Vietnam, work under them for a few years and take over the family business from them.

The problem is I’m not wild about taking over for my parents. They work really hard to make the business successful and I’m grateful for the lifestyle they were able to give me. But I don’t want to work 12-14 hours/day, 6-7 days a week for the next 30 years. I need work life balance, and I’m not going to get that working for my parents or running my family business.

Edit: wow I did not expect this many people to commented on my post. Thanks everyone for your take, I still have a year or two before I have to make my decision on staying or going back.

Also for clarification since people are curious, my family business is a conglomerate and we do a lot of different things. My parents are not the sole owner of the company, there are other business partners and investors, but my parents and another business partner run the day to day operation, with my parents run the transnational arm of the company and the business partner run the domestic arm of the company.
