Accepting Jesus’ vicarious atonement of our sins and accept that only through belief in Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection, can I be saved

If I accept all this then were immediately rob a bank and live a life of great sin, would I be saved? Or will I go to hell? Basically, does accepting that Jesus died for our sins void us of all responsibility of sin committed or will be committed in the future?
