When the twist is super obvious, and yet still shocking when it’s revealed

Spider-Man Far From Home: Mysterio is faking his magic powers, and is the real villain. If you’ve ever heard of Mysterio, you’re aware that he’s an illusionist rather than a real wizard, but the movie is so well structured that you genuinely believe he’s the hero of the story until the last moment

What Remains of Edith Finch: Edith Finch is dead. The title of the game already gives it away, especially considering the game is all about the Finch family and the deaths of its member, but you get so absorbed into the story that it can be easy to forget this is just a story that the player character is reading, rather than Edith’s own experiences.

Glass Onion: Miles Bron is the killer. It’s pretty obvious from the story telling that Miles is the killer, and even if you don’t realize it, the movie outright has the detective say as much early on. But the movie outright gaslights the viewer into thinking Miles would be smart enough to not get his hands dirty, when in reality he’s a complete idiot who is more than willing to kill his enemies without thinking anything through.
