What do you think about Sean and Amanda discussing movies they have a personal connection to?
Was listening to them talk about Opus and have seen the pretty rough reviews so far coming out of Sundance about Opus and it reminded me of their conversation around Leave The World Behind, knowing they are friends with Sam Esmail. Thought they went a little easy on that and didn’t think it really merited a long discussion (just my opinion though)
On the one hand, I wouldn’t expect them to trash a movie made by a good friend (I wouldn’t either) and I know they’re not critics, but it just seems like it’s insulting the audience to put on kid gloves for a movie you’re fully in the tank for and pretend like it’s just another movie discussion. What do you guys think?
