Officially got hired as a sub!

Im just waiting for my background to clear and already completed orientation. Im excited and nervous but ready to dip my toes in.

Any advice? I’m only going to be doing it once a week because I work full time. I’m doing it to get some classroom experience since I’ve had two job interviews for a teachers aid and para and got turned down by both due to not having enough classroom experience.

Goal is to go part time at my current job and pick up more subbing shifts. Pay is around $230 a day so not too bad.

I’m also trying to get into a teachers credential program and having a head start with the schools locally can help me while working on my credentials.

How long have you guys been subbing? Do you enjoy it? Is it your only job or more or a side job? How many days do you typically work and do you ever struggle to find any shifts?
