Will making a video game help my CS application?

Hi guys, Im an international student, wanting to apply for a CS course. I’ve been working on this video game as a hobby for a couple of months and I’m wondering if it can perhaps be used in my profile to increase my chance of getting into a bachelor CS course. If it’s possible, should I go the extra mile to polish the code and game quality? Thank you for your time.
