what do you do with mermaids

my teenage sim decided to crush on a mermaid - normally i‘d use mccc to change it bc i can‘t deal with mermaids for the life of me, unless anyone can offer suggestions? He‘s also a green fiend and a goofball (😴) … so before i cheat, suggestions?

(ps. up for anything fun and interesting story wise)
