Will never buy from Womanizer again
I invested in the Womanizer Next back in January this year after I accidentally broke my Lelo Sona 2. Lol. I had bought the Womanizer Eco a few years ago, loved how it felt, but found it such a pain in the ass to clean. It eventually died after I stopped using it regularly because I was tired of feeling like it was dirty constantly.
So, the Womanizer Next. I bought it thinking it would be a perfect replacement. I hadn’t had my Lelo for too long (less than a year) and was looking for something that would hopefully last me a much longer time. The Next seemed to check all my boxes: reputable brand (one I’d bought from before), clit sucking, waterproof, quiet, lots of intensity levels, and it came in black! As soon as I opened the (admittedly pretty nice) box for it, I was hit with a VERY strong plastic-y smell. I thought maybe it needed a few days to air out; most of the toy is covered in a silicone skin, whatever. The smell somehow only got worse. If you’ve bought high-quality silicone toys, you know they really shouldn’t have a smell to them. I don’t know if Womanizer is cheaping out on their silicone or what, but it is horrendous. It will be sitting on my nightstand, and I can smell the nasty plastic silicone smell wafting from it. I’ve tried everything to make it better too.
A lot of Womanizer toys also have this decorative metallic band on them, and the Next does too. The silver paint on mine started chipping off LESS THAN A MONTH into owning this thing. I’m almost a year into owning the toy now, so it only looks worse—flaking silver paint everywhere. The smart silence feature is a selling point for this particular Womanizer toy too, I guess, and about four months ago, it completely stopped working. No more smart silence for me. The worst part is that now the glue holding the silicone skin to the rest of the toy has degraded entirely. The skin shifts around when you try to use the toy, and the glue around the mouth of the toy is gone now, so the silicone can be peeled back, revealing the plastic body underneath. It's definitely not waterproof anymore because of this.
As for how the toy feels, it feels fine, I guess? This is all down to personal preference, so I won’t spend too much time on this, but I really don’t see (or feel) much of a difference between the Womanizer Next and the Lelo Sona 2 Cruise I had. The Sona made my clit numb faster, I think.
I’m just so disappointed in this toy. It was so freakin’ expensive, and I bought it hoping I could get at least a few years of use out of it. Luckily, Womanizer does have a five-year warranty, which I will be claiming, but at this point, I don’t even want a replacement. Knowing the replacement is going to degrade just as fast and have the same issues, I would rather get my money back and just buy a toy from a different brand.
Update: Contacted customer support. They informed me they don't do credits or fulfill requests for a different item of equal or less value like the Premium 2, so I just went with them sending me a new Next. It took probably a week to get here, which was fine, but I didn't get tracking info until it was delivered. Will probably update or make a new post in a few months informing how the new one holds up. So far, it has the same exact plastic smell that I expect to get worse.
