Italy Schengen from Bangalore - been 47 days no update

Planning for a trip in Oct start, however wanted to book tickets once I get the confirmed visa. I had applied on 28th May and expected to get the visa in ~30-40 days, but not so sure now how much longer they will take.

Anyone in similar boat, who had applied quite in advance, how much time did it take for you to get your visa? Concerned as heard from folks Italy consulate issues visa near to departure, if thats true we will end up with having no actual bookings !!
