MC-707 Sample Limit Per Project?
First of all, no I don't want to use a traditional looper like a 505, or RC-600 - this is likely to be the first suggestion so let's get that out of the way. I don't use overdubs. I mix live guitar with midi instruments. I enjoy the clip launcher workflow from Ableton/Bitwig that MC-707 seems to emulate somewhat, and I'm looking for a DAWless box to limit myself (and if I can't find one I'll just stick with Ableton/Bitwig instead of using a hardware looper).
I have a question regarding loop lenght per project. I'm a bit confused regarding the 6 min and 60 second limit per project.
Say I run a project with 2 drum tracks, 2 tone tracks (for synths) and 4 loop tracks (that I intend to record my guitar into).
Let's say the project is in 64BPM and I'm recording 8bar loops (so 30s to make the math easy). Does that mean that if I record one 30s clip in loop track 5 and then one 30s clip in track 6 I already hit the limit? I can't use the other two loop tracks anymore? What about adding more clips to the first two loop tracks, can I still do that or does the inactive clips still count towards the 60s limit which means I can't even make another clip in the same track?
Again, I don't mind the limitations (I seek them to a certain extent), but since I intend to use half of the tracks for recording live guitar into them, I want to know how quickly I'm going to hit a limit. Thank you very much in advance for your replies.
