Quiet ABXY Buttons Mod HOW-TO
First and foremost, this is not necessary at all. I personally didn't like how loud the button presses can be and wanted to investigate, so here we are.
All you need is some thin foam with an adhesive backing. I used this stuff since I had some left-over from other mods. Just make sure it's around 1/16" or 1-2mm thick.
The most difficult part of this is just taking the Ally apart to get to the buttons. There are a bunch of different videos of this process, I used Sakura Retromodding's video since I also used their buttons. (Remove the battery first before the rumble motors)
Once you get to the buttons and remove them, you'll want to cut some very small rectangles that match the 3 locating tabs sticking out of the buttons. Do your best here, doesn't have to be exact. Place each foam piece on each tab, then reinstall and place the motherboard back on top of the buttons to do a test fit.
Once you're happy with it and it's closed back up, test your inputs to make sure you're not getting any unwanted presses. Hope this helps anyone that has also felt the same!
