Is there any comparison?

I’m still at the early stage of being tempted to buy a first gen Cayenne. When I mention it to people they always point out that I could get a nice Lexus or Acura SUV for the same price that will be more reliable and cheaper to maintain. Does a V6 Cayenne still feel better than a higher end version of more common SUVs? I suspect there is no comparison to a V8 or turbo model but is there comparison to the V6?
