Findings from my CT scan:
Hey guys- they insisted on only scanning when I had a deep breath. They refused to do one while I exhaled because they had “never heard of that in 30 years.” Haller index: 2.3. Is that totally normal?
EDIT
Exam: CT Chest - without Contrast
Indication: ; Dyspnea, chronic, chest wall or pleura disease suspected~; f/u pneumo and eval pectus excavatum. please give pectus severity index and pectus correction index
Technique: Spiral CT was obtained from the jugular notch through the posterior costophrenic recess without IV contrast. Coronal and sagittal reformats were performed by a technologist. I actively participated in the creation of 3D MIPS on a non-independent workstation to aid in the detection of the pulmonary nodules.
Comparison: CR CHEST 8/13/2024
FINDINGS:
Lungs/Pleura: Interval resolution of previously seen multifocal pneumonia on chest radiograph of last month. No suspicious pulmonary nodules. No parenchymal masses. No pleural effusion or focal pleural lesion.
Axilla/Soft Tissue: No supraclavicular or axillary adenopathy. Regional soft tissues are within normal limits.
Mediastinum: No pathologic mediastinal or hilar adenopathy. The heart is normal in size. No pericardial effusion.
Upper Abdomen: The visualized upper abdomen appears unremarkable.
Bones: Haller index is 2.3, well within normal limits. No evidence of fracture, dislocation, or aggressive osseous abnormality.
IMPRESSION:
Normal chest CT.
