New player - don't know what build to choose (PoE 1)

Hi. I'm a new player and I got to know that I should choose a build to simply be able to do content later in the game. I checked a lot of builds but none of them looked fun to me.

I'd like to play a classic mage which just throws fireballs, ice shards, energy beams, lightnings or something like that, any of the above would make it for me.

I had found a couple builds that matched my criteria but I read the comments and those builds weren't beginners friendly (not league starters, expensive or hard to get gear dependent).

I want the simplest projectile aoe build with any of the things I wrote above just to get to know the game.

I saw Zizaran's builds for 3.25 and I haven't found any. I also checked some sites like maxroll, poe-ninja etc. and most of them were just autobuilds that you run and don't use any skills or had skills that were used only around the player spamming (lightning and ice ones).

TL:DR - Looking for beginner's friendly build with aoe projectiles skill mage-like.
