Is L-Citruline *really* an effective vasoconstrictor reducer when paired with ADHD medication?

DBH Inhibitor? (Dopamine to Norepinephrine Conversion)

While my search for Desoxyn is on hold, I’m once again exploring potential options to enhance my experience with my current medication (concerta 2x 18mg). Over the past three years, I’ve tried various stimulant classes, doses, and regimens, yet they all share a common pattern of side effects:

  1. Neck tension (often accompanied by cracking and popping)

  2. Dry mouth

  3. Cognitive impairment (mental agility issues)

  4. Insomnia (difficulty staying asleep)

These symptoms tend to occur together and fluctuate throughout the day. A temporary quick fix I’ve found is chewing sweet gum, sucking on Werther’s, or eating sour candy—this usually helps, but not always. When it doesn’t, it throws my routine off completely.

Given this, I’m now considering whether a dopamine beta-hydroxylase (DBH) inhibitor—which prevents the conversion of dopamine into norepinephrine—might help alleviate these effects. If anyone has insights or experience with L-Citruline or others, I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Please no mentioning of magnesium, l-theanine, theobromine, hydration or sleep hygiene, meditation, etc. I've tried the gamut. I'm otherwise healthy per bloods. Highly active and eat a primarily plant based diet.
