Why are so many ocean critters just chill dudes?

Whale sharks, lemon sharks, octopus, sting rays, dolphins, some eels, humpback whales, and more.

They're all just kinda like hi! : D hello! Wyd? Just super curious about us.

I understand that not every Interaction is positive. But there's to many friendly encounters with these guys that got me curious. Is it just that they're curious and that's it?
