Would you tell your friend/crush that you found them objectively physically attractive?

I can’t tell if this friend I’m into likes me, or is just nice to everyone, which she is. I do not want to make assumptions, so the only way to know for sure is to be honest with her, which is scary. Would any of you tell a platonic friend that you found them very attractive, if you weren’t interested in them. She has told me this when I told her I wasn’t super sure about how I felt about my looks. This could easily be her comforting me, but it wasn’t just the “people have different tastes” or “looks are subjective”. She said “i think you’re a 9 and cannot believe you think you don’t look good.” I wouldn’t be able to be that direct with a platonic friend. And with a crush I doubt I could compliment them at all. But that’s just me.
