Kirby's Dream Buffet - Let's share first impressions!
Kirby's Dream Buffet unlocked about two hours ago in Europe and should unlock in a few hours in North America. What are everyone's first impressions?
My initial impressions and findings:
- The game does have an offline mode with CPU opponents (difficulty can be selected).
- Online matches are ranked (game shows ranking and number of victories).
- Hundreds of unlockables (treats/stickers, colors, costumes, sound tracks).
- An online match consists of a series of races and mini games, with bonuses at the end.
- Relatively sure the game runs at 30 fps (only played docked).
- Some online matches have been a little laggy, but most were fine.
- Terrain/etc, Mario Kart like power-ups, etc are quite impactful as you'd expect.
- Private, password protected online matches can be set up.
- 1-2 local players on one system, up to 4 players with individual systems and games.
- There is a "free rolling" mode for practicing and experimenting.
- Online matches seem to give more XP.
For 15 Euros/USD, I feel this is a solid game to pick up. There's enough content and the ranked mode is an unexpected addition. Costumes/stickers/etc. can be unlocked in offline/solo mode, too.
