Should I jailbreak a nintendo 2DS pokemon red edition?

[sorry for the bad english, it's my second language]
So I just bought a nintendo 2ds pokemon red edition for my (early) birthday. I saw somewhere that jailbreaking ds consoles has become very easy these days. The first thing I don't really know is if that's possible with a 2ds the same way it is for 3 ds? And then would jailbreaking said 2ds mean loose the pokemon red preinstalled on the console ?
