Am I being hypercritical?

This will be a weird post but I see a lot of people since the Lakers chip blame them for how Kuzma turned out in the more recent years. Kuzma has never been an efficient 3 pt or free throw shooter (and is actually worse career wise than the guy people trash for being the reason he got moved), is a poor rebounder for a guy that's his size, and is a pretty poor defender (rewatch the Miami finals or watch any Wizards game if you don't believe me). The move to a low visibility team should have helped him work on his game quietly and since he is usually option #1 or #2 you'd think you'd see the rise in his skills but he hasn't really gotten any better since leaving 4 seasons ago. Are the Lakers to blame for how he has turned out and am I being too harsh on the guy's ability?

For the record I am a Heat fan.
