Glorious Model O Review
Hey guys, I see a lot of flexing with the model O and not enough reviewing so I'm taking it into my own (claw gripped 20 x 10) hands.
Preface: I have a Matte Black Model O, no white or gloss. I got it yesterday and used it for a few hours this is just a little initial review, if anything changes I'll update later.
I ususally rate my mice on a few basic things, in order of importance:
Comfort 0-5: Too Big/Small? Cramps? Hard to grip comfortably? etc.
Feel 0-5: How it feels to move around/use. Weight plays a factor in this category as well as mouse feet, cable, and any possible sensor issues.
Price/Quality 0-5: How much it costs and the materials used in it. Coating, Plastic, Scroll Wheel, Switches, etc.
Onto the Actual Review.
1. Comfort: 5 / 5
This mouse is basically an FK1 shape with better comfort grooves IMO. I didn't like my FK1 when I had it. This fits my hand much better. One of the biggest things for me is how my beefy ring and pinky finger rest on the right side of the mouse. This accommodates them nicely and I didn't find myself repositioning my hand on the mouse at all. My daily driver has been a GPW and I had to reposition on that pretty consistently, this has no such issue. The comfort grooves feel nice and overall I think this is one of the most comfortable mice I've ever used. Easily the most comfortable Ambi mouse I've used so far. This is in comparison to an FK1, GPW, DM1 FPS, G Pro Wired, G305 and SS Sensei. This takes the cake for any Ambi I've used. I can't compare it to a Finalmouse because I've never used one.
2. Feel: 4 / 5
Good Mouse Skates, Good Cable, Super Low Weight all make this mouse feel FANTASTIC.
"But you gave it 4/5 when you said it's fantastic"
If I wasn't coming from a GPW I'd give it a 5/5. So I guess you could say if I didn't buy a $150 masterclass of wireless mice I would give it a 5. So really it's more like a 4.5. I use an Artisan shidenkai Mousepad and I have a medium sens (30.7cm/360, EDPI 4500 in Overwatch) It glides extremely fast. I haven't used it on my QCK Heavy or Artisan Zero Mid but I don't think I'm going to. I love the way it feels on this. The cable reminds me of my DM1 FPS cable, but a paracord is a paracord is a paracord and this ain't it, one of the best stock cables I've used though, so kudos for that. Still like my Mamba Elite's cable almost as much. It's a 3360 sensor so no issues there, top notch sensor.
Glorious, keep it light and make it wireless if you can and you'll have another bestseller. EZPZ.
3. Price/Quality 4.5 / 5
It's a $50 mouse with every feature people want, light weight, good shape, good sensor, good stock cable, and good mouse feet. The clicks are super crisp and the sidebuttons feel nice. The scroll wheel is just about the best I've ever personally used. I did a few tests based on issues others had. I gripped my mouse as hard as I ever really do and I couldn't get the side buttons to activate. So unless you're deathgripping it as hard as humanly possible you won't activate it, everyone's could be different so if it has any problems like it being too easy to press it is probably not normal. (Glorious has addressed this in a comment of a separate post here.. ) All in all a great quality mouse, and the price is EXTREMELY competitive. The construction, clicks, scroll wheel, RGB, etc are all super nice and I love the way this thing looks and feels quality wise. Blows most other mice that cost more than this out of the water. I also don't like the dude on the side of my mouse and would love a version without this Gigachad staring off into the distance. I didn't expect zero issues if I'm honest but I'm glad to see they're already working on fixing stuff like the side button clicking when pressing in on the sidewall. They're also already taking backorders, so no artificial scarcity and anti-consumer crap. I like :)
Side Note:Packaging was nice, but arrived with a pretty substantial crease in the cable and I wasn't too happy about it The overall presentation is nice. But, I would like to see the cable be taken better care of. For me personally I prefer packaging to be function before form. Small issues but could cause some headache. It came with a sticker and little flyer/booklet but other than that it's standard packaging. Fixing the cable packaging issue would be a great thing.
Conclusion/TL;DR, Great mouse, minor issues, which is promising from their first effort. They seem to be on top of customer support, which IMO is an absolute necessity.
Overall: 4.5 / 5
Honestly I rate things pretty harshly and this is the best mouse I've ever used for me, but I always want better. Small issues but none that I think are gamebreaking for me (yet). Give it a shot, it's one of the best mice for the money, and competes with the likes of the GPW, FK, and DM1 FPS for best mice I've ever used.
EDIT: Missing word and grammar.
