Minecraft cactus trash can.

Cactus is know to be the ultimate destroyer. It makes items disappear. But I wondered. Where does the items go?

A few years ago I have come across a youtube video about minecraft facts and there was mentioned that the items thrown to the cactus actually teleport on the nether roof and that there is a specific coordinate for them.

Sadly I can't find the video again, so does anyone know the location or maybe a video explaining about this?
