If Mad Max took place in the United States, what car would the V8 Interceptor be based on?

Let’s imagine it in the same time period, too. I’m sure the Challenger/Charger from that era will get a lot of love, but what about cars that were actually used by U.S. police organizations, like the Monaco, Chevelle, or Coronet?

Just curious what other peoples’ thoughts are.
