The store I’m at is going extremely downhill
The store I’m at isn’t the same store as when I got hired. I wasn’t expecting it to stay the same, but I also wasn’t expecting it to become what it is now. During my first year, the store I’m at was the second best-selling store in our district. Now, it’s the last in our district, and I feel like everything started going downhill when we got our new store manager last year. It slowly went downhill after they took over, and it became noticeable during the beginning of the busy season.
One of the problems was that they didn’t let us do the quick load this year, which caused us to lose a lot of customers in my department, and sales went down. One of the reasons for not doing the quick load was that we didn’t have enough workers in my department. They waited until the middle of April to hire people, and only one of them lasted. Then, in the middle of the busy season, they went on a firing spree, which left us short-staffed and caused customer complaints.
Then, some people left or transferred to another store because just about everyone in our store doesn’t like our store manager, and some customers don’t like them much either. My store manager is not good with people, and I think that is one of the issues with them. Besides, I think they don’t know how to manage a store. When they were out, and when the fill-in managers were there, everyone felt happier and enjoyed coming to work. It didn’t seem miserable being there, and most discussed that a couple of times when we thought they got rid of them. But now, since they are back, everybody is saying how miserable it’s about to be. Most of the store is about to leave, and we just had another firing spree, so there’s going to be almost nobody in the store when everyone starts to leave. I think it’s sad how down the store went.
