How should Kendrick move forward now that Drake has gone the legal route?

During the height of the beef, I made a thread wondering if Drake could sue for defamation if the p3do allegations were untrue. I admitted I had no legal background and even asked for legal education from those that did. I was told that Drake couldn't sue for defamation and that it would never get to that stage because this is hip hop.

Welp, now we're here. Drake is suing UMG and Spotify but UMG said they would turn around and sue Kendrick if Drake went forward with a lawsuit.

Now my question is, how should Kendrick proceed and protect himself moving forward? If there are any lawyers and/or those with a law background, what is your opinion on what's going on? Do you believe Drake has a case? Do you believe there's merit to his claims? Do you believe UMG will bury this and go after Drake? Will Kendrick actually get dragged into this legally? If I'm Dot, I'm laughing at how much of a bitch Drake is but I'm not taking any chances especially since UMG and Spotify are involved. I'm calling my lawyers and making sure I have the best council on retainer in case anything happens. I know Kendrick don't play about his family or team so I'm guessing he's already in conversation with his legal council.

Also can he be sued for defamation if Drake is on record (Taylor made) encouraging Kendrick to call him out for his relationships with underage women? What about the evidence that leaked of Drake paying for streams for hotline bling?

How do you legally see this going for Drake and what precedent may it set moving forward? I'm not under the impression Drake is doing this to help anyone aside from himself. I actually don't like him and hope he loses.
