HCM with Apical Aneurysm-am I doomed?

Had a recent AFib event in October and I had to have electrical cardioversion. They did a TEE before cardioversion and found an LV apex apical aneurysm. I just had a gated CT scan and the aneurysm is now 4cm in diameter (about the size of a walnut), and my EKG done yesterday at the cardiologist’s office showed hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, left axis deviation and then the aneurysm to top it off. He said I need to be treated with the same regimen as heart failure.

After much research, I think I should also get an ICD because of the high chance of sudden cardiac death. Anyone else have these issues? And if so, how are you managed by your specialist—the cardiologist I saw seemed nonchalant and wanted me to start an ACE inhibitor and beta blocker right away, even though I get ankle and leg edema and my fatigue is putting a damper on my life. Oh, and I’m a 48F with Loeys Dietz and Noonan Syndrome diagnoses. TBH I feel like I’m kind of doomed. I’m thinking of going to the Mayo Clinic to get the real treatment I need…
