Free skins- is that bad?

So I just did a duos match, same random teammate joined three times. He bitched that I'm high prestige using a free hunter and left. The free hunter was level 10, a soul survivor, fully equipped and pimped with good gear and perks.

So I switched to a paid skin, level 1 and he stayed. When we got in the match I asked him if he knew soul survivor only let's you use free skins, and why a pimped out free skin hunter is worse than a paid for level 1, and he freaked out realizing I was the same guy and quit the match, killing off his level 25 tier 3 skin...

What. The. F#$%?
