What’s with the pricing on Used?

Been shopping for a while now. Looking for a 2020 or newer EX-L and above trim with “around” 50K miles.

Nobody is listing any clean titled vans that matches my criteria for under $30K. A 2020 EX-L had an MSRP in 2020 of around $38K. So, 4 years and 60K miles later there’s only been a 20% dip in value? I know the old wisdom for depreciation was about 15% per year to the 5 year mark and that changes a little depending on vehicle, but do these vans hold their value this well, or is this just outright greed and I need to wait for the market to soften some more?

I’ve spoken to 2 dealers and made offers on vans closer to what I think market value should be ($2,500 - $3,000 less than thier asking price in both cases). And so far they’re both acting like I have punched thier children (even the guy who’s van had been on the lot over 90 days). And refused to budge from thier price (or thier extra $2K in dealer add ons 🙄).

Maybe I’m entering my “old man yells at cloud” era, but I can’t see the value in a 4 year old van costing $36K out the door, when that same van MSRP-ed 4 years ago for $38K.

Make it make sense.
