Are expensive headphones worth it?

So, I am going on vacation in a few days and I have been using my mom’s headphones(the Sony mx3) for a 3 years now. I really like them but my mom wants to use them herself when on the plane. I totally understand of course, but this does mean I am without headphones for when we travel. So I might want to buy the Sony mx4, but I don’t know if it is worth the money when I really only need it while traveling and I could use my mom’s headphones when we are on location.

Does anyone have any alternative when you think it isn’t worth it? My budget is around 200€, but less is always better:)

Edit: I forgot to mention this but I am looking voor an over ear cover. And headphones with Bluetooth and ANC.
