Pearl Gourami and Blood Fin Tetras

I was at my LFS talking about what I planned to stock in a 75 gallon moderate-heavily planted tank. It currently has a dozen blood fin tetras and 3 Boesemani Rainbows. I plan to get the rainbows to 9, but when I mentioned I wanted to add a pair of pearl gouramis I got the “not so good idea” look. Apparently the blood fins can be fin nippers. I have seen them chase each other and school around the tank, but everyone’s fins look good. Any experience from this group?
