Could my ETD be going away

Hi everyone,

I’ve posted since the beginning of this ordeal for me (2 months ago now). I had humming tone tinnitus that started in my left ear, along with pressure and sensation of fullness in that same ear, along with SSHL. After the initial visit to the ENT, who diagnosed me with ETD due to allergies or weather related I returned desperately to urgent care to get help as the tinnitus was spiking and my sleep deprivation began. Finally the second visit to urgent care I was prescribed Prednisone and that helped get the ear pressure down and restore some of my hearing but only lowered the tinnitus by 20%. My ENT declined to prescribe more Predisone and continue with Flonase and ZyrtecD.

Here are my current symptoms: 1. Tinnitus is lowering every other day, but still continues. It gets lower in the morning and if I stay away from loud noises it remains that way. 2. I’ve also developed hyperacussis, apparently that can happen with ETD. 3. I can’t always pop/equalize the pressure in my bad ear (left) with fake yawning or moving my jaw.
4. I’m still continuing using Flonase and taking a break from ZyrtecD due to an upcoming allergy test.

Anyone else who who successfully treated their ETD or anyone period have these symptoms? I have two back to back appointments with different ENTs and a skin allergy test.

I just want to sort of insight on what to expect and if I’m nearing the end of this horrible experience 😔
