Be touch

Hello, I was reading an interview by an actor talking about masculinity and emotions, and there’s a phrase that I cannot quite understand.

“I always felt like as a guy it's totally ok to cry or be really angry, and feel things in spades. Maybe it is because of my parents, they are the two most honest people I know, and that informed my decision to be as open as possible with my emotions. It doesn't always happen, as guys are always going to feel the need to just get on with it - be touch or whatever.”

What does he mean to say with “be touch”?
