Annual Servicing
Was wondering if anyone could help with servicing prices.
Recently bought an EV and have read prior that they are quite cheap to maintain and service due to it having less going on compared to an ICE car.
Having said that, I’ve looked at some prices for an annual service for an EV at a handful of garages near me and the prices are typically the same as an ICE car. Is this normal? And how often do they need servicing? I had one garage say that since my car is due for its 4th service (so car is currently 3.5 years old), it should be a major one and then it only needs servicing every 2 years after now.
That same garage quoted £444 for a service, whilst I had another at £251 for a major and £210 for a full service.
Just super confused now at the frequency I should service my EV and the statement that maintainability is minimal.
Thanks in advance.
Edit: Car is a 2021 Citroen EC4
Looking at the service plan the official Citroen website has laid out, it seems they would give:
- Major Service 2025
- Main Service 2027
- Major Service 2029
Around £850 which also includes MOT every year, which works out to be around £283 per service with a yearly MOT. Since I plan on selling on trading in before the 4 year mark (since its a PCP), I think I might as well pay a local garage to do the service and MOTs and then try to get rid of the car prior to the 2029 major service to save a couple of hundreds. Will probably need to shop around to make sure that a major service for £250 is the norm.
Thanks everyone for your input
