Having a puppy whilst working part time?

19 [M] Im planning on getting a puppy (golden retriever). Other then walks / going out and sitting with my dad and sister and there dogs (1 each) my dog will be in my room with me for like 80% of the day. My sister is literally useless with her dog and treats her as a accessory tbh and my dads dog is much better but my dad can easily lose his temper and get frustrated with the dogs sometimes leading to slaps or kicks (nothing serious or harmful just a bit concerned about him doing it to my dog and scaring him which could potentially lead to socialising issues). My sisters dog wasn't house trained and struggled with a few commands and my dads dog is AWFUL AT SOCIALSISATION LIKE GENUINELY AWFUL.

So I'm not massively keen on my dad looking after it too much and will likely never let my sister look after it but I can't leave it in my room for 4-5 hours a day when it's a puppy!

I have enough money to leave my job temporarily and focus on the puppy until it's well trained enough but that wouldn't be ideal.

I am willing to put as much time and effort into this dog as I need to and will NOT follow my families laziness with there dogs so please don't be alarmed about that.

Please don't just say move out as that isn't really an option right now! If you genuinely think having a dog would be an impossibility then feel free to say so.
