Real life similarities to Dexter?

Is there any serial killers in real life or even just one time murderers that have a similar backstory to Dexter or even trinity killer? Dexter likes seeing people chopped up because his mom was chopped up or trinity recreating his sisters death! Is there anyone out there that has done the same recreation based on a tragic death in their family?
