Using DeepSeek locally, but it sucks?

Hi everyone. I've downloaded deepseek-r1:1.5b version of DeepSeek, and im running it through Ollama. But it seems after prompted, the answers are weird, don't make sense, and are bad in general. Chat GPT would be way better.

Is this because I downloaded the lightest version? What is everyone elses experience? What am I missing?
