Crown Vic Questions
Hello! I'm looking to purchase my first car, but I have a problem. Here's some info about myself first, though.
I recently turned 18
I live in the Northwest subarbs of Chicago (In a very safe town)
I'm extremely excited and eager to buy a car
I have about 7 grand to spend (more later)
I'm going to college next year, possibly in Virginia
I really like the Ford panther platform
I'd like some general information about Crown Victorias and the panther platform in general
As I mentioned, I have about $7,000 to spend from working, but my Dad has been involved in the process of buying a car. I might have more to spend if he chips in (which he says he will). However, he's not on board the the idea of a CV. He's said that they're prone to rusting out and that I need something with better gas mileage for college; it's not good if a car breaks down; etc. I've done a lot of research, and have found out that parts seem to be readily available (since Ford made so many), and also that the panthers can last 300,000 miles if properly cared for. But there's only so much you can do online, and I haven't found a good Crown Vic to look at. I don't even know who I would go with. So, does anyone have anything I should know? Is the Crown Victoria a bad car for a college student? Thank you, everyone! I'll be excited to hear your feedback.
