Why do people ship Jeckole?

If Nicole is chill like in the anime pilot then fine I get it. But its made clear as day in the games that she is a toxic influence on Jecka. And ofc in Flipside Nicole was incredibly abusive to her throughout the entire game. Idk can y'all explain to me why this ship is so popular?
