Whats the loneliest situation you ever experienced?

I went to my friend's wedding, got invited to be her bridesmaid, i was the only friend from school she invited, none of our mutual friends were invited. Tried talking to strangers there her cousins/friends but was eventually ignored, i understand that its the only time you get to catch up with your friends and family. I sit in that uncomfortable situation for hours, today introspect on how lonely that feels like coming from someone who enjoyed doing things on her own.

Anyone else have any similar experience? Being out in public and feels so lonely?
