Auntie Ethel Question

So, I've played through this game 3 times. Don't worry about spoilers. Anyhow, I'm on my evil run and heard you can have Auntie Ethel at the final battle. In order to achieve this, you let her have the girl in Act 1. I fought her, and when she said "wait, don't kill me," we made a bargain. She took the girl and left and I got a piece of her scalp.

Anyhow, I'm at the Blushing Mermaid in Act 3 searching for the lost child, and she won't bargain with me for "humiliating her." Then she took off to the cellar. I'm fairly certain if I follow, she'll attack and the same fight I've done in previous playthroughs will ensue.

Where did I go wrong?
