Maybe a dumb question about kissing baby

Hello everyone, this may be a dumb question, but I can't seem to get a straight answer from the internet or any resources I have. I see constantly about how grandparents/visitor should not kiss baby on the head/face right away because of RSV and other health concerns. I completely understand and support that!

My question is do I and my partner also follow this rule? Should we not be kissing baby for this period? The thought makes me sad, but if it puts the babys health at risk I will absolutely follow it.

Sorry if this is a silly question or obvious that it is/isn't okay. I'm going to be a FTM and so I'm definitely still in the learning phase of things. Any info/advice is appreciated!
