How do background checks work in bpo?

I wanna apply to BPO since i really need money right now to pay for rent, tuition and school allowance, and medical bills. But i get anxious about the background checks.

I'm a student and I don't to reveal it because I really want to pass.

I also put character references in my resume (with the references' permission ofc) but I'm worried they'll find out that they're my close acquaintances.

Do bpo bg checks involve checking family history and visiting houses as well? my family is a bit complicated and i'm really uncomfortable sharing my personal life to a company :<.

Any thoughts? advice? this is my first time applying for jobs btw. before this i'm just freelancing from time to time.
