17oz Waygu Tri Tip - Recipe Recommendations? First time
I smoked a cheap 2lb full size tri tip around five years ago.
I bought this 1.1lb / 17oz Snake Rivers Waygu tri tip as it seemed too good of marbling to pass for $33. I figured at this price if I butcher it, not too much lost, but I have high hopes with Reddit’s recommendations.
At my disposal is a Weber Summit with built-in smoke chip box / sear station and it works well indirect wise. I’ve smoked ribs, brisket, pastrami, pork shoulder, wings and much more with this setup and am comfortable with fast and hot and long and slow smokes.
We also have a propane stovetop and cast iron / stainless that get as hot as we need. Have a broiler oven too if recommended reverse sear.
Open to any ideas, please share your favorite recommendation as I’m excited to try this cut but didn’t find too many great recipes online
Thanks!
