Shein and Temu are getting more popular in Australia for fashion and is nearly number one

I keep hearing people say they want to move away from fast fashion—prioritising slow, quality fashion over cheap, mass-produced clothes. But then, new stats state that, Shein and Temu are dominating in Australia, and it feels like a complete contradiction.

Even more interesting (and kinda depressing), I’ve been reading that fashion brands and even Australian ones —especially ones that could offer affordable, stylish options with local returns—don’t even want to launch in Australia. They see it as a waste of time because the market is just obsessed with fast, cheap fashion.

And to make it worse, I came across this brutal take: “Australians are obsessed with Shein and Temu. Fashion brands shouldn’t even bother with Australia—people there won’t buy. They just want cheap, fast fashion, and they aren’t fashionable or concerned with quality.”

Ouch. But… is it wrong?

Honestly, I’d love to see more options here as I would love some more diverse fashion , and don’t even get me started on returns when you buy online from some of these cheap sites—it's like pulling teeth, juts had an experience with BabyBoo , I personally would love to see some more brands or local stores with more diverse fashion. Just a rant xxxx
