What are some underrated towns or cities that you've visited in the UK?

There are some cities and towns that often get overlooked or shit on for some reason. But here is some places that I've been to that I find underrated myself and people don't often talk about visiting but actually have good stuff about them.

Hull: Has plenty more to offer than a lot of people give it credit for. It has The Deep, Dinostar, a really nice looking minster, The Museums Quarter, The Maritime Museum, Ferens Art Gallery etc. The city also has rich fishing industry and also the docks have been regenerated to look really nice.

Coventry: Another city a lot nicer than people give it credit for. The city has very rich history that I think a lot of people seem to forget about. Again a couple of museums that you can look round (Herbert and Transport museums), as well as the cathedral and guildhall. It also has the history with the whole blitz bombing the cathedral where they left a lot of the cathedral a relic. And finally there is the whole history with Lady Godiva.

Halifax: Another town that has regenerated itself which people seem to forget about. The Piece Hall is now hosting music events (including the upcoming events for Weezer and Deftones) and it also has good history with the mills. There is also obviously the cool museums that are The Industrial Museum, The National Children's Museum and Bankfield Museum. And to top it all off there is also Shibden Hall which is cool to visit.

Bury: Probably the best town in Greater Manchester imo (Manchester is a city of course) but again it doesn't seem to get much attention. There is of course the remains of the castle as well as The Transport Museum, The Fusilier Museum and The Main Bury Museum and Art Gallery which are all worth a visit when you're there.
