How to approach men?

If you’re out and about and you’re single, how do you like to be approached by a woman?

I feel like women aren’t good at pickup lines. I just get kinda awkward and my default is to just smile at them? But that makes me feel passive, and I want to be more proactive.

Obviously I want to approach in a way that doesn’t come across as me wanting anything casual, but that I’m curious about someone.
