Hi, Mexican-American here, just came by to ask what the Canadian side of Reddit thinks of all the happenings currently.

First off, apologies for my sentence structure and grammar. English is my second language.

Look, I am not expert in economical or propaganda warfare, but I do believe this is one of the biggest actions the country I have immigrated to has done in recent times to neighbors we consider "friendlies". I was way too young post 9/11 to know what all happened with that, but anyways....what is realistically the response of the people? Since I believe in the people more than I believe in any government anywhere. I have been to Canada quite a few times and I have very good friends there and I am worried about their future economically. Also, most Canadians I have met, have been quite friendly people. But, they already are barely able to sustain and I wonder how much this will deflate the Canadian dollar and fuck them over even harder. I know Americans will deal with the same issues but, realistically speaking just from the research ive done and the news ive heard and seen, the USA can lost a lot longer in a war of economical attrition than Canada can. I know there is threats about cutting off power supplies and such but I dont really know how much of an issue that will be stateside just due to the costs associated on both sides of the border (once again just from the amount of research I have done, im willing to be enlightened on any subject).

I just hope we can find a way to be friendly amongst one another again. Canada is cool man, and as much as I know that the USA is made out to be some horrible monster, the people here are actually really cool and nice and have been inviting to me since I immigrated almost 20 years ago. I will always defend the people but I will never defend the govt because fuck them. I dont believe in implementing critical economical measures to make another nation's govt bend the knee, GoT style. Could this perhaps be a play to make the next Canadian administration bow down to the American powers? It kind of seems to be that way.
